extensively during this period, producing a landmark book,
Mercedes Benz Grand Prix Racing 1934-1955, and a photographic
record of what has been called the "Golden Era of Racing.

THE RAREST OF ITS TYPE
An exceedingly rare United
States Tire ashtray. Composed of a glass tray with a silver
metal attached treaded tire and a metal-spoked silvered wheel
inset. Tire has raised lettering on the sidewall reading United
States Tires Are Good Tires -Plain - Royal Cord - Nobby -
Chain - USCO. The slogan and the company logo appear twice.
The tire and the spoked-wheel inset exhibit extraordinary
detail, even down to the valve stem on the wheel, and are
in exceptional condition. Approximately 6" in diameter.
This is only the second example
of this item that we have been able to offer in over twenty
years. A prize for the passionate collector.

TOMMY FARRELL
1921-2004
Vintage painted helmet and
gloves that belonged to the western movie and television star,
Tommy Farrell. Farrell appeared in more than three dozen movies
and numerous television shows and was an amateur sports car
racer in the 1950s.
The helmet is decorated with
the CRC racing team logo and has his initials on the back.
The helmet is Machpi 56, manufactured in Italy. The gloves
are the typical leather and web-back worn by racers of the
period.
A rare grouping of authentic
1950s U.S. sports car racing artifacts.

PARTICIPANT'S BADGE
Fine enameled Bugatti Owners
Club-Prescott Badge, with participation pins for the years
1964 through 1971.
In 1937, the Bugatti Owners
Club purchased the Prescott estate and began construction
of the speed hill climb course that is used to this day. The
course is regarded as one of the most challenging hillclimb
courses (course map is affixed to reverse).
This beautiful enameled Participant's
badge has the Bugatti grille in gold detail and eight (8)
attached participants pins. Matted and mounted, with a scan
photo of a Type 35 Bugatti on the Prescott hill, in a 11"
w x 14" h gold wood frame.
